PBS&J Discovers Five-Ton Civil War Cannon in Galveston Bay

PBS&J archeologists are working with Texas A&M University to preserve a 10,000-pound Civil War-era cannon recently discovered in the Texas City Ship Channel in Galveston County. The weapon belonged to USS Westfield, a Union gunboat destroyed in the Battle of Galveston in 1863.
